About Me

Prepping for your newborn session with Gainesville Newborns

Hi, I’m Tiffany and I have a passion for growing families.

I’ve spent years wondering what to write about myself that would make YOU want to work with me. I’ve read other photographer’s pages that say stuff like “lover of coffee & chocolate…”. While that is true and very relatable, it just doesn’t accurately describe your experience with me.

So here is what you can expect from me…..

I’m a busy mom of 4 crazy kids. I put my heart and soul into everything I do and somehow still make the ends meet. When you choose me, you become family. Parenthood requires a lifetime of endurance building. I was just as tired with one baby as I am with 4, so talk to me about how you’re feeling during pregnancy, what struggles you’re having with a new baby, or if it’s not your first rodeo, tell me about you how it’s going with big brother or sister and new baby. After feeling like we finally knew what we were doing with baby number one, we found out it was a whole new ball game with the children that followed after. Every baby is humbling.

I feel like I get more awkward with age, or maybe I’m just embracing the awkwardness that was always within me. I think you’ll feel right at home with me. Those husbands that dread being photographed, leave feeling way less tortured than they expected. Being photographed is hard; please don’t think that my portfolio is filled with gorgeous moms and dads who know how to pose. I’m there every step of the way, paying attention to every detail and helping you feel comfortable and at ease so that your connection is evident in the your final images. You know what awkward also helps with? KIDS! I love getting down on big brother and big sister’s level. I have a lot of practice; all my best friends are under the age of 7! Knock on wood, I haven’t had a session yet that I couldn’t get a good sibling image and I’ve had some pretty tough customers.

With that said, I have photographed hundreds of babies. I’ve taken newborn posing and safety workshops. I am invested in my craft. I will love and handle your precious baby like my own. My family and I are fully vaccinated andI have a strict unwell policy in the studio. I am truly honored every time I am chosen and trusted to capture these fleeting moments. Every image you receive will hold a piece of my heart in it.

“Every image you receive will hold a piece of my heart.”

IT’S TIME TO READ YOUR SESSION GUIDE!

Please take a few minutes to thoroughly read and understand our session guide. If you have any questions, let me know. Otherwise I’ll see you at your session!

SCHEDULING (BOYS)

  • If you’re planning on circumcising, please schedule your session before or 4 days post procedure.

PREPPING YOUR BABY

  • Please fully feed (AND BURP) your baby right before leaving for the studio.
  • Please avoid having any diaper ointment on baby’s skin. If you are using it regularly, please be sure to clean any off prior to your session.
  • Please remove all bandaids from your baby prior to your session.
  • The morning of your session, dress baby in a loose outfit that zips or snaps up the front with a loose diaper and no tight socks. Please avoid baby clothing that has to be removed over the head.
  • Even if your baby doesn’t typically use a pacifier, I ask that you bring one as they serve as a wonderful distraction for the baby during the session. They are incredibly helpful in keeping your little one happy when moving from pose to pose. Please bring a SOFT pacifier, such as the Soothie brand (without the stuffed animal attached). Pacifiers with a hard outer shell leave marks on the baby’s face.
  • For a successful session, baby must be well fed to their satisfaction. Changes in feeding patterns, stress, etc. can affect milk supply. Even if your baby has been nursing great, I urge you to bring 2 bottles of either breastmilk and/or formula for baby during their session.
  • If your baby has lots of hair, don’t forget a baby hair brush.

DURING THE SESSION

  • If siblings are going to be part of the session, the best method with siblings is to have them come at the start of the session only. Toddlers especially have a difficult time sitting quietly through a newborn session! Parents find the experience much less stressful when one parent or a friend/grandparent cares for the child for most of the session and brings them to the studio for their portion only. If you need to bring your older child for the duration of the session, please plan to keep them entertained with snacks, quiet toys, books, etc.!
  • I have a waiting area for parents to set up camp during the session. Take this time for yourself and just rest on the couch!
  • I do my best to keep the environment of newborn sessions very calm and peaceful. The more relaxed everyone in the room is, the more relaxed the baby will be. For me this means pulling out my baby whispering skills, for parents this means relaxing and letting the photography magic happen!
  • Please do not take pictures over my shoulders during the session, except for behind the scenes shots (which I love!).
  • Expect my patience and attention to detail to rule the day. I spend the majority of a session perfecting poses, backdrops, fingers, etc. and I believe these little things are what makes the difference between a snapshot and a work of art featuring your baby. So that’s what I’ll do!

WHAT TO WEAR | MOMS AND DADS

  • We want all of the focus of the image to be on the connection you share with your baby, rather than the clothing. Therefore, we suggest a simple solid color dress or top for mom and a matching plain tee for dad with jeans. Mom/dad and baby shots are close up so most of what you wear will not be shown. You can find inspiration here.
  • Moms, keep make-up looking at natural as possible. Avoid using too much hairspray; soft hair photographs best with newborns. Be sure to take nail polish off, or paint your nails with a very neutral color. Avoid long earrings or necklaces. We want all the focus to be on you and your baby!
  • Dads, if you’re wearing a new tee shirt be sure to iron out the sleeve crease in advance. Other than that, just relax. It will be over before you know it.
  • Bring a change of clothes…you may be holding a naked baby. You get the idea.

WHAT TO WEAR | SIBLINGS

  • A simple white or grey tee or tank with jeans (or a simple/neutral dress for little girls) and bare feet. Please remove their socks and shoes at the start of the session to get them used to it! For little girls please avoid hair accessories unless they are very small and a neutral color. You can find inspiration here.

  • Your lightly edited proof gallery will be available within 24 hours of your session. There you can select your favorites and checkout. The gallery will be live for 48 hours. Expired galleries are subject to a $75 reload fee for an additional 48 hours. Final galleries will be delivered within 2 weeks of purchase.
